We all appreciate the effort and love that you put in to the trails and want to be sure that we have skilled and knowledgeable people helping out.
This offer has just come in from Rec Sites & Trails BC. (PACA has a partnership with Rec Sites at the Three Blind Mice network.)
Recreation Sites and Trails BC will be hosting a trail building workshop this spring. We are looking for interest and to confirm numbers from your clubs memberships. Initially we can offer two spots per Partnerships. Confirm as soon as possible please.
Numbers: 20 participants
Course: Trailbuilders Workshop – Level 1 The Foundations
- Theory: The Classroom session teaches modern techniques to build and maintain sustainable trails.
- Critical: Post class room, will be site visits, assessment of trails, critical thinking on prescriptions for the trail
- Practical: Tackle an appropriate project by applying classroom theory and assessment while fixing a section of trail or constructing a new project
The course will be two days- one classroom/field with day 2 in field. Depending on the numbers of interested parties and their residence geographically. We will determine the appropriate location in the Okanagan Valley to best accommodate the largest number of attendees. Please be aware that there will be travel to site(s) so transportation will be required. Please email me with your numbers of interested people and we will confirm the dates in the near future. Upon confirmation of dates I will send out course outline and required gear, transport and meal information.
